The exhibition will display more than 130 important works by Wu Hufan and the teachers and students of Meijing Bookstore. Among them, Wu Hufan’s personal paintings and calligraphy works are more than 100 pieces. This is Wu Hufan's largest exhibition after the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The exhibition displays paintings, calligraphy, fan and other works created by Wu Hufan and his six disciples: Xu Bangda, Wang Jiqian, Zhu Meicun, Lu Yifei, Yu Zicai, and Zhang Shoucheng, aiming to inherit, spread and promote Meijing Bookstore and the essence of Chinese calligraphy and painting.

Wu Hufan is an extremely important painter, painting and calligraphy appraiser, collector and art educator in the history of modern Chinese art. In his early years, he was called "Southern Wu and Bei Pu" together with Pu Ru, and later he became known as "Three Wus and One Feng" with Wu Zishen, Wu Daiqiu and Feng Chaoran. He started his paintings from the orthodox school in the early Qing Dynasty and then learned from the painting schools of Song and Yuan dynasties. He is good at painting landscapes, flowers and calligraphy. His classical landscape painting can be traced from the "Four Kings". It breaks through the barriers of the Southern and Northern sects, and shows his unique style of compound painting with elegance. His most representative technique is to combine melt-water ink drying with green colour. The famous artist Zhang Daqian once praised him as "the first person in the painting circle of the Republic of China". Wu Hufan also has many excellent collections, including the fragment of "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains"-"Remaining Mountains".

"Meijing Bookstore" is the name of Mr. Wu Hufan's studio. He began to recruit students and apprentices during the Republic of China, and Wang Ji moved to Zhumei Village, Lu Yifei, Xu Bangda, Zhang Shoucheng, Yu Zicai and others successively apprentices to the "Meijing Bookstore". Wu Hufan's teaching is different from others, as he focuses on student-centered teaching.

This exhibition is not only a creative review of the art of Wu Hufan and the teachers and students of Meijing Bookstore, but also shows Wu Hufan's outstanding contribution to art education. It is going to be an art feast that many people look forward to.
