Revolutionary Art Since the Yan'an Era displays the Chinese revolutionary artworks collected by Wang Wei, who start to collect them from 2003. The academic host, Chen Lvsheng, as the expert in art history of new China, has done the case studies of the exhibited artworks systematically. Among nearly one hundred works since the Yan’an Era (1933-2007), some paintings such as Sentinel of Our Great Motherland by Shen Jiawei and Thinking of History at My Space by Chen Yifei, etc. were widely known at that time, others are the significant revolutionary works (thematic works) created by the representative artists. These artworks are characterized by a clear social or political theme related to that typical time, providing important image materials for a generation to understand the history and present, which can be regarded as a complete revolutionary art history since the Yan’an Era.
