The melting point of silver at a standard atmospheric pressure is 960 degrees Celsius, and this is the inspiration for the title of the lecture. The lecturer believes that silver has always been a very special kind of precious metals and has a wide range of uses. Although it is not as economical as the gold, it has its unique malleability and shaping ability, making it an ideal material for handicraft and artwork. This lecture will discuss the history of silver creation, the role of silver in contemporary jewelry art, the application of alloys and contemporary creative language. The content involves several examples of outstanding artists and silversmiths who are active in the contemporary jewelry industry, combined with the lecturer’s own creative experience.
