"Gustav Klimt Special Project" was created by the Culture and Education Department of Long Museum (West Bund). Following the "children's art intern", Long Museum once again collaborates with Yingran·Etiquette and Culture, and Tonghui Artspire, to create an annual children’s art education project.
The project aims to provide a comprehensive platform integrating art appreciation and creation, exhibition planning and display, dinning etiquette and training, and professional tour guides for children aged 6-12. The project invites the famous Polish artist Marta Liszka as the instructor of the workshop. She uses the artistic practice of Gustav Klimt (the leader of Vienna Secession) as a case study to lead children to learn the modern art history. She also adopts the creative techniques of Gustav Klimt, such as symbolism and expressionism to guide children to understand the value and fun of artistic creation.
During the project, all the works created by the children will be fully presented in the form of a professional painting exhibition in the exclusive space of Long Art Museum. In this project, the role of children will also change from "little artist" to "little curator." They are not only the creators of the works in the exhibition, but also the “co-curators” of the exhibition. The senior education experts of Long Museum will transform professional exhibition knowledge into relaxing and enjoyable interactive games to explain in simple terms. It allows children to understand the concepts, key elements and basic methods of curation.
